To Proper Lawn Care

One deep watering is much better than watering several times lightly. Lawns need about 1 inch of water each week. If the weather is very hot, apply an inch of water about every 3 days.

Watering to a depth of 4-6 inches encourages deeper, healthier root development. It allows longer periods between watering. To measure the water, put an empty tuna can (or cat food can) on the lawn while watering. Stop watering when the can is full or if you notice water running off the lawn.

Welcome to the website of The Oregon Homeowners Association. Our website is being entirely redesigned, but the short delay should be well worth the wait. The new site should be up and running shortly and will be much easier for members and guests to navigate.

The Oregon Homeowners Association is the premier organization representing the interests of more than a million homeowners in Oregon. Our magazine, The Oregon Homeowner, is mailed quarterly to OHA members from Ontario to Astoria, from Medford to Hood River. You will find each issue of The Oregon Homeowner full of useful information about a wide array of subjects such as how to know when your roof needs replacing, how to defer your property taxes, how to hire the right remodeling contractor, as well as timely updates on legislative issues affecting you as an Oregon homeowner. Whether it’s a property tax issue, a property rights issue, a proposed real estate transfer tax, or a ballot measure increasing the penalties for burglars who would break into your home, you will find it in The Oregon Homeowner. You will not want to miss a single issue.
